When I swapped my wheels recently I noticed how poor the locking wheel nuts are on the car, are there any others out there that are compatible?
Hopefully ones that aren't made out of blu tack like the BMW ones that it came with

Something wrong with your X5 if it has wheel nuts because BMW only fit wheel bolts and there is nothing wrong with the original locking bolts .

Standard ones are fine- as long as you (or your tyre place) dont use them with an air gun.

McGard are the ones fitted, and not normally known to be a problem. I think you want type 27226.

Not had any troubles with mine, but then neither the Dealer nor I use an air wrench on them.

The ones with the 6 are garbage, tiny depth on the locking key means that if they start to round they are next to useless, I might even go with a regular bolt instead.

Just wondering how often you actually want to take your wheel bolts out? I've had my X6 for a year now and have changed wheels over from summers to winters and back, and the standard locking bolts are just fine, never had a problem and they are not demonstrating any undue stress or impending failure.

Get the dealer to do the job. They break it, they change it! They managed to damage a rear hub last time. Lord knows how..

Car will be gone in a month or so, it was just to keep it nice for whoever gets it next.

What are you replacing it with. Another X6, or is that a secret at present?

An upgrade to an X5?

might come and knick your wheels then 10min drive=new wheels

Nothing planned right now, nothing I fancy so I might just go fiesta for a while, The X6 causes a lot of agro from the idiot minority

That's a real shame. Locals jealous? Wilful damage done? I hope you can rejoin the BMW Family again soon though...
