M Sport insurance versus SE

Updated my insurance to be for the new X5, delivery this week (well, if the dealer ever informs me what is going on that is ... :x ).

The insurance company provided a certificate for a 40d SE and when I mentioned that it was wrong (i.e. M Sport), the premium DOUBLED. Was expecting a bit more, but double the premium of an SE ???

That's taking the p@@@. You're only talking a body kit. It's still a 40d underneath. I wonder if they've confused the X5M with the M Sport - two very different cars!! Could be 'operator error' or database error. Time to look elsewhere anyway. I know I had some silly quotes of about £1,400 for the 40d (BMW being the worst!!). Stayed where I was for £500.

Possible I guess

PVR, surely you are a full paid up member of Saga now so it should be cheap

They were £10 less than my current lot - not worth the change (this year).

Total premium is not bad for the year and I have to clarify my statement really ...

Upgrade to E70 SE from E53 was £30 more, whilst it was £60 more to get the M Sport. So the total premium is not double, the difference was double :)

535dboy - please give me your saga contact details, might give them a try :poke: Your insurance must have gone down now you are married :P (when are you back in the lap of the lawyer so the speak? 8-) )

Ok so we were all thinking the quote had gone from say £600 to £1200 ! Explain yourself better man !

I'm back in the UK now trying to work - was playing with new supercars this morning though - another thread to follow

I didn't get a 5th star, so I probably need to try harder... :?

Actually that reminds me.....is there an option to have something other than 'Member' under our names? Humorous thoughts like 'Club Spanner'?
