iPad 3 - have you failed to resist the temptation?

Given the number of what my other half terms 'geeks' that are on this site (she means it in a kindly way), I'm surprised there has, as yet, not been a single post about the iPad 3 until now. It's been at least 24 hours since it was announced after all..
So come on then, who's given in to the temptation and ordered one - apart from me that is.
And yes, I know they're expensive and about all the other comments that fly about fruity products, and I like my iPad 1, but it just can't cope with the Photoshop add-ons now being released (the iPad 2 can) and with a 22MP camera to work with, that hi-res display is helpful.

With. 4G won't work in the UK as it's only set up for the Verizon or AT&T frequency blocks (2100MHz) in the US. Verizon (800MHz) block in the US is used by Freeview here. Can use with AT&T when in the US though. I think the UK versions will be of the AT&T 'flavour' anyway.
Although most of my use is on WiFi, having a PAYG 3G Orange iPad pack proves useful when needing access to something when out of range. It does add considerably to the hardware price though. Data is 5p/MB. I'd like to see free tethering via the iPhone, and may change networks when the iPhone4 contract expires shortly. Probably switch to 3, but have no experience of them having been with Zero Range since 1992.

We're on 3 as the missus is from S America so the unlimited data is great for Skyping on the go/from wherever. Coupled with the Skype unlimited world (or whatever it's called) at around 70 quid a year she can dial landlines as well as other smartphones (Argentina being a little behind the times as far as data contracts are concerned).
We are on 30 GBP a month payment plans and just cut the SIM cards down for use on the Apple products (iPhone 4s's or iPad2s) which is 5 GBP a month cheaper than the [similar] iPhone plan that they do (muhahahaha!!)
I've been with Orange and TMobile in the past and 3 are actually better than both. Have now been with 3 for the last 5 years. No real complaints about service and coverage.

Off to NY/Houston next week. Trip to Apple Store on 5th is planned and definitely bringing back one since they are that much cheaper than here... But then again I am a geek (the geriatric type)

For iPad 1 or 2 owners really doesn't feel like a worthy upgrade. If you don't have one then sure 3 is good, although u can pickup iPad 1's on avf for £160-190 they do sell like hot cakes. Tons of ipad3's on sale there from owners of ipad1/2 just to show a lot of folks feel the same way.

Ipad2 now becoming available with a new lower power consuming CPU giving extra battery life - for those still not sure whether to (a) get one, and (b) not sure which version. No easy way of telling the two apart though!
Details

just FYI, if you plan on buying from states and wish to have 4G capability than you must commit to getting a contract with one of the phone companies in states. they dont sell unlocked ipad3 anymore.

i think 64G wifi are around $689. at least thats how much it is here on our base. that would be plus tax in the states.
