Tv no sound

Tried using the tv function on my hybrid tv unit and it scans and gets loads of channels but no sound. Searched the forums and looked like it could be down to poor reception. Went out today and am parked a mile clear view from the antenna and still no sound. It sometimes says mute sometimes not. Tried wiggling plugs on tv unit as suggested but no joy

Any ideas from you seasoned owners would be gratefully received

Thanks

Digital reception can be a complete nuisance compared to analogue, which worked even with a less than perfect signal. The digital tuners seem to have a tizz if reception is anything less than 100% perfect, so you may have no faults at all. Check the obvious like antenna, but it sounds as if its a reception issue. Can happen even under the local antenna mast.

Would it be worth checking the aerial connection? Where is the digital aerial on the x come to think of it where are all the aerials. Is it in the rear demister?

Rear nearside window and rear screen. Amplifiers for both. If you've got the picture, then I doubt the aerial is the issue, more likely the DVB(T) decoder alignment or unit. Digital TV tends to be an 'all or nothing' system. Are you seeing any picture artifacts or is it clean?

Aerial stuff see here....BMW TIS

Is it the OEM TV Receiver fitted to the car, or one you have obtained? If it's a replacement from outside the UK it may not decode UK DVB(T) correctly as the formats may be slightly off in other countries. It's supposed to be the same but........

There is a really clear picture on all channels even the weak ones if you know what I mean. Pretty sure it's the BMW hybrid tuner
