Thule bar feet

Post by pvr » Tue Feb 28, 2012 2:47 pm

As I have the roof box / bar set from Thule for the E53, I want to change the "feet" only for the E70 roof.

Does anyone know what the part is for that, assuming I have to change them ...

Try..............and it depends upon which bars you have

I know I still can't get proper feet to fit the E71.  I also have a set of both square and aero-bar kits from the E53.  Nearest set is the 775 or 757

I have the square type, so will just have to check I suppose if it fits :)

Is the roof width similar as far as you know? The feet I have now seems to be fairly flexible in shape etc so hope they will fit.

More than one square type unfortunately. Could be the 775 or 757 foot for yours.

I've got two sets of squares - one long, one short - and both will fit with different overhangs. You need 769 or 762 bars

Halfrauds have the 775 feet at £95!!! Think I'll look elsewhere.

The overhang is not so much a problem I would imagine?

No I don't believe so. It's still less than the mirrors, and most people seem to take to the hedge when they see an X5/X6 coming, even though we're the ones with 4WD!! Seen it happen so often and it always makes me smile. Focus heading for the ditch whilst a 4x4 carries on along the blacktop.......go figure. :D I guess we really do own the road. :driving:

A key factor is whether you are going for the SE (bars) or M Sport (rails) - sorry I can't remember. I hired a Thule roof box over Christmas and the fitter initially came out with the wrong type. The type he came with was designed to clamp around a bar (over and under) whereas the (solid) rail can only be clamped from above. Hope that helps.

Sport. The e53 clamps I have grip from above, guess I will just have to try.

I picked up my new 40d msport with the rails on the 1st. I posted the same query on here a while ago as I also need to fit a Thule roof box. Here are the details I was given:

You need the Thule 869 Aerobars, 4003 fitting kit and 753 footpack.

Ok, so I need to get these feet sorted.

Can anyone confirm that the 775 feet will fit the car and the square Thule bars?

The post above with the 753 confuses me as I do not see it in their list for the 40M sport.
