got an oem oil filter other week while i was there, i ve a 2005 3.0d need to do an oil change, i heard a rumor that asda has the castrol oil, but what do i need? thanks

Usually fully synthetic Castrol Edge for Diesel Engines 5W30. As long as it meets BMW LL04 then you'll be fine - there is more than one Edge 'recipe', so check for the LL04 bit on the pack.

Keep your eyes open for halfords deals. They sometimes put the good stuff up at £17.50 per 4 litre castrol 5/30 fully synth... You'll need around 7.5l so two of them for £35 and your laughing

I managed to pick up 2x 5l of GM longlife 5/30 for £40 delivered off eBay. Might be worth a nosey on there and see if its still available.
