90k 54 plate???? Actually bought a 43 plate 80k car!

ORIGINAL POST REMOVED
EDIT
Ok guys here is what i actually bought, it's a grey 54 plate 80k 3.0d sport with grey nappa leather, tow bar, sat nav, TV, bluetooth phone, folding mirrors, heated memory seats, with black carpets but grey leather, hifi option, cant remember what else.
Quite happy with it for the money, I think the front bushes need doing as there is a slight vibration sometimes when braking. The bluetooth needs some figuring out but I'm sure i will get it soon.
Other than that I'm well happy, there is hardly a mark on the body or wheels, i have a huge pile of paperwork, a full service history and all the keys. Good good good!
A good wash asap, a change of plate then tints, remap and maybe some 20" wheels and the arch kit to come at some point

Personally i think at 13k it's over priced.
My own car has less toys, but it also has 25k less miles and i got it for 13 grand.
I could have found an X5 round about the same age, with 80k for between 11.5 and 12.5, so i reckon 12k is more appropriately priced....maybe 12.5k if it's not had paintwork done and fully serviced, with nothing needing done.
IMO

I don't think that's bad at all for a 54reg diesel with 83k and a lot of toys. Definitely scope for moving the price down though and I'm with you on the wheels - I prefer standard.
*Just an addition though - going off the milage on pics and trees with no leaves on looks like he's maybe struggled to shift it for some reason

The car mentioned above never once emailed me back after he made the first contact, wierd!
Ok so I'm off to look at a different car tomorrow
Private buy, 54 plate with full BMW service history. Elderly gentleman who has had it for three years and bought it from BMW. Nav, TV, bluetooth, heated seats, towbar, grey sport model with grey seats but black carpets. 13k cash
Great condition but 80k miles. Have had contact with the guys son and it seems a good honest car, HPI all clear too
Car looks good apart from some damage to the drivers seat bolster but i think that can be repaired. Does not have xenons as per the advert, the orginal order spec has been sent to me. Hacve also asked about headlight levelling switch so xenons are def not there, otherwise the spec is perfect for me

What do you all think

Seat heating too.
I reckon you could get another couple hundred off the price.
Cars just aren't moving as quick as folk hope atm and going with cash in your pocket means you are in command.
Just noticed the grey seats bit....with black dash? That sounds strange? I'm not a fan of grey myself and figure most folk would rather have black interior, so could make this harder to sell on?

Yeah not so keen on the grey myself but I have been sent one photo and it's not too bad. Have spotted a full interior on ebay for 700 notes and may consider replacing that if it's really bad. Grey with black suits me as boot is black and will be home for my mountain bike so the black can take the dirt better.
This will be a second run around car so it doesn't have to be perfect, just a good reliable runner and if it look good then that is just a bonus. Only two previous owners so it all indicates a decent car

WHAT! Not keen on the grey! Better than washing a black one with swirl marks! I love my grey! It is black inside too.
Forget eBay for the whole leather seats - they have backs or bases come up for a lot less - brand new. Only thing to get is the bolster (good upholsterer could sort that for a lot less too). No DIY for you then.
Reliable - need to check service history, gearbox issues, turbo if diesel, bushes, etc... Check tyre tread levels too.
Heated seats are great! Has it got the tyre pressure monitor? Heated steering wheel? Folding mirrors? Check the comms has everything, TV, CD, bluetooth, Nav must be mk4 (DVD written on the front), year of satnav disc, original or copy, does it have speaker grills in the rear doors (bonus, as that will be speaker upgrade).
My two pence worth! Good luck!

No I mean grey leather! Grey on the outside looks great, classy but still smart.
Have had th guy send me the original spec so no surprises there. Not sure which sat nav, it's a sept 2004 car though. Have spotted it's exclusive leather and HiFi speaker option
Full BMW service history but will chewck the stamps tomorrow. Hoping to con the dad out a few hundred for low tread tyres

Good man - grey rules over all these boys in their boring black!
Leather came in two kinds - the better was Nappa (can't remmeber the standard - sorry, but not exclusive).
Speaker option a bonus and 2004 should be MK4 - check the disc thoughand if original or copied. Needs to work either way.
Oh and privacy glass, keep an eye out for tinted in the glass or film. Original factory fit will be tints B-pillar back. Most tint front windows too - pull window down and check the edge (sorry iff teaching you to suck eggs)...
Grey rules!

Thats the one, nappa leather, no tints so will have to get that done myself at some point
Together with silver grill, 20" wheels, arch extensions and the obligatory map, I am coming from an M5 so it'll need all the help it can get

Indeed Mrs Chompers has a BS 1er and I would never have anything bigger than that in black, far to much work to clean it and keep it clean

unless I employed Pweters to do it for me
