If you have a Mark 2 X3 (F25), or any other X made in Spartanburg for that matter, Thursday 09 Feb 2012 @ 21:00 GMT is a note for your diary or auto-record for Sky+ users, as that is when National Geographic Channel (and HD) will be showing as part of their Megafactories Series how the new X3 is put together....

I believe the first gen was built in Austria by Magna.

Indeed it was. That line now builds the Mini Countryman (which uses the 1series floor). Not sure which other models are built there as well now.

I do actually rather fancy an X3 with the 3.0d engine - as long as it's a 40d variant (or better). Not driven the new version, but it does look good, nearly as big as an E53 and (I'm told) is very quick.

This blasted neck disc injury I've picked means I'm finding it easier to get in the Mini than the X6 - even the the X is a lot bigger!! It's to do with the height of the door aperture (I'm 6'4"). We'll have to see if the 'cutters' are going to put bolts or plates in my neck first and then plan ahead.

F25 really is a superb car to drive.........very good when driven progressively on undulating & twisty roads.
