Just when I was gonna treat it...

Booked my 4.6 in with jason today for a little work to hopefully sort out all the little issues I have been having, thought to myself, "That'll get everything sorted, no worries for a bit".
Get back to the car park and there is a little puddle of oil under the front left! Gutted isn't enough of a word
Any ideas of common issues? Maybe rocker cover or vanos?

Could be many things tbh but check power steer fluid level at the reservoir as I have seen the hoses leak quite a few times.
If the oils dirty black its engine oil.

Definitely engine oil rather than power steering fluid.

Thought most of that would have been caught by the under tray though?

I thought that but I suppose if it was leaking for long enough it would find its way out.

Turns out that it is the cam cover gaskets, apparently a laborious process as I have been quoted £800 and a whole day to fix it

That is a hell of alot of oil to be leaking from the cam covers to create a puddle on the floor
Have you noticed it consuming a lot of oil before you noticed the puddle?
Turks.

About a litre per 1,000 miles I think. Maybe a bit more. I assume it had been leaking for a while and created a pool in the undertray which eventually leaked over.
I had an Inspection II done over the last couple of days and the cam gaskets was the verdict, no traces anywhere else on the block apparently.

Considering the amount of stuff that has to be removed to get to the cam covers, thats not too bad
