As most of the forum know that im a extrained BMW tech that goes that bit more than the normal independant BMW specialist

we have been tuning BMW and other makes of cars for many years

we also make our tuning files for other tuning companys as well,not just for BMW's alone,a few have agreed to do the same offer for the xdrivers as we do so i have made a list of who will take part
so if you can't get down to us or not able to get one of our remapping meets

just send me a pm or give me a ring on 07831 103030 and we will do our best to find the nearest dearler who can read and write our tuned file to your car

also if you have been offered our tuning by another company can you please let me know as i have had a few customers tell us that there are other companys saying they use our tuned files,these companys are just using our name to get work,please check with us before using them,we keep all original and tuned files for your cars on our data base so its easy to check if we made the tuned file for your car or not

Jason, I'm thinking of a remap for a few more horses but wondered what the impact would be on my gearbox.
E53 30d auto. Also what sort of money would I be looking at to get it done.

Don't know about gearbox issues but whilst he's not here...

Quotes of £250 for forum members is the going rate.

Not heard of many if any gearbox troubles due to a re-map alone... especially as i'm sure Jason works within safe tolerances to maintain longevity of the drivetrain?

+1 there is no evidence to support that the remap will do any harm to the gearbox.This has been discused several times before and i can't think of anyone on here or elsewhere who has had a remap and then had the gearbox go on them!
If anything i'm guessing it would be better as there is a smoother delivery of power and a much better drive so you aren't 'flooring' it as much and putting extra strain on the transfer box etc.
just my thoughts and i am no gearbox specialist but since having my remap way back the car only seems better and also safer to drive

I have heard that pre-facelift E53's with the older auto gearbox (5sp instead 6sp?) are
susceptible , but that can even happen with standard power/torque , it was a weak 'box .

Jason also mentioned it to me when I asked him for advice on buying an X5 (before I'd
heard of this forum)

Having said that , I only know of one owner who has a replacement 'box , that was after
@ 75,000 kms

the problem with these early gear boxes was the 1st input shaft cage breaking as there was not enough metal to strengthen
where the main circlip

the remap will not harm the gear box

we run over 500bhp with 576 lb/ft through our gear box at the santapod

He means power increase after getting an E53 facelift 3.0d chiptuned.

If I remember correctly , it's between 255-265 bhp depending on who's programme is used , but
I'm sure Jason will be along soon to give the exact answer .

but it dose depend on how you want your car tuned as we will make the tune to suit you
