I was one of the many who's aux heater refused to work after being programmed, tried all sorts as per the many discussions on here but nothing..so car went for service this week asked to check it over and was identified as an internal failure of the unit so new one under warranty getting fitted next week...result, hopefully all will work well when done.. :)

No questions at all, I mentioned nothing about the heater being enabled by scanner just that I was aware it was not operating as it should when the temperature was low coz there was no exhaust gases from it in minus 3 when it should have been firing up...

does your webasto start when the engine starts in a cold morning say below 5c? to heat the interior before engine heating does the job?

if that doesn't happen you should tell them that - that's a standard feature of the car and warranty should cover it.

strange one that is...

then again, come to think of it..
is ur battery absolutely ok? i observed this once in my car before i replaced the battery.

i just managed to start it with power to pin one only once, never could start again. eventually i replaced the battery, and hurrah! webasto starts again on power to pin 1!

havin said that my webasto itself has a prob which i'm yet to fix..

You could try connecting a battery charger to the car for a while and charge it just to make sure the battery is at over 12v, whilst still connected, try pin1 and see if the Webasto starts, battery charger amp meter if fitted would confirm if things are happening as current draw would increase.
