X3 Wing mirror retraction problems

I have a BMW X3 2006/56 2.0d. I would appreciate some help with my problem.
After having not used the car for 4 months i came bach from holiday and reconnected the battery and the wing mirrors worked fine the first day. On the second day the passenger side mirror did not retract when pressing the retract button. The next day both side mirrors stopped working and after 2-3 days the passenger side mirror started to work fine but now it has been a few months and the drriver side mirror still does not work. It does not retract nor can use adjust the mirror itself from the adjust switch in the car.

Any suggestion will be much appreciated
