Hi Graeme and welcome - from Graeme :) I had an E53 3.0D for a few years and now have a 4.6iS :) Lots of help on this forum when you need it. Have a look at the buyers guide an the start of the E53 General section, fantastic post by AW8.

Welcome Grahame!

Lots on here as you've seen and we'll all try to help where we can.

Buyers guide is what you want to start with, located here in case you can't find it.

Hello and Welcome

Been through an E46 325i Conv Auto (underpowered in that config) to an E46 330Cd Conv - a quick car!- (the Wifes's which we've still got and looks to become my 'project car' as she now has a Mini Countryman) an E53 3.0d Sport which I loved and now to an E71 (X6) 40d which I absolutely love - even though they aren't to everyone's tastes.

I think you'll find a lot of what you'll need to help you make your mind up on here, but if not never be afraid to ask :)

Welcome to banter central, a great forum IMO.

Good luck with the search and just ask away, no question is a stupid question. No, scratch that, there are many stupid questions on here......

Anyway, welcome
