got this message up on the dash tonight but all the brake pads seem fine at least 10mm left on the all so a ((!)) symbol lit up, any ideas could it be a knackered / faulty pad sensor, thanks

Check the conections on the pad sensors, try unplugging then plugging them back in, they are front left and rear right.

this came up for me last summer when i broke one of the sensor wires going over bumps. From memory, the 2 sensors are NSF and OSR.

Also the inner pad (the one you can't see... Typically!) usually wears faster. You'll probably need to get the wheel off for a proper look. As said before only one sensor front and one rear. Passenger side (near side) front, rear drivers side (off side)

oooops checked them today and the inner pads have around 2mm on so a trip to motor factors tomora!! only thing is ive recently had trouble with the pedal pushing right to the floor and i got them bled up the other week so they were normal and now when i put new pads in right round it will be tight as hell!!

fitted new front pads and put the sensor back on as it came off, and anyway the lights still on, also when fitting i removed the cap off the resovoir for the brake fluid so as i pushed back the pistons(alot pads were on metal) and a small amount of fluid was pushed out is this ok?? also before i started the fluid was past the max level!

fluid was pushed out as in it overflowed? i think brake fluid is highly damaging to painted surfaces..

By the way, once you have a new sensor there is a reset procedure to turn the light off again. Something like leaving divers door open and turning key to pos 2 for 20 secs?

Search here and I'm sure it will come up.
