Door stuck

Hi everyone,

So it's 3 days before Xmas and the X5 decides to play up!

The rear passengerside door won't open from either the outside or inside. The lock pins are popping up & down with the remote etc. but the door won't open and there is no resistance on either handle.

Is this a problem with the carrier, or maybe the mechanism seized?
Funny thing is we gave a mate a lift home last night and he got in fine but 5 minutes later couldn't get out

Any help or guidance welcome.

Sounds like your mate may have pulled the door handle a little too hard and snapped the cable! I am a newb to X5s though so could be wrong! But I had my door card off the other day and I saw how this could potentially happen. Try taking the doorcard off (if you can with the door stuck shut) and have a nose around in there!

I had this problem a while back on one of my back doors,I found this thread useful,
As long as you can get your window down and you follow the pictures you should be okay ;)

Cheers for the replies. Think it was me that posted that link In an earlier topic - never had to use it myself though, until now!

Powercat, did you manage to get the rear door open using the coat hanger method? The guide only refers to opening the front - is it any different?
