Re: New X5 owner & New Member
hello, interested to hear about a newly done lpg, my last x5 was 3.0i lpg would have been better on juice than my 30d only it kept using petrol and gas together so i just sold it, think a newly done one shouldnt use any petrol while on lpg

from what i saw, any vehicle with injection system as opposed to carburetor will start on petrol first than switch over to LPG. on carburetor cars you can choose which one you want to start with.

Thanks for all your kind welcomes!!
I will sort some larger pics out when I get to see daylight!
As far as the LPG goes - yes it starts on petrol until the engine gets to a set temperature the automatically switched to LPG.
Before i get that done I need to get a few teething problems sorted that is the responsibility of the main Ford agent that sold it to me.
Sat Nav is not working! Screen just has feint light that goes off when press any button
Radio not working
No idicator light on dashboard or Full beam warning light.
probably a number of other light not showing either.
One of the keys doesn't work
So not a very good introduction to my new toy
They are replacing a light control module (on order)
But wouldnt have thought that would be connected to Sat nav

Damn - that's not a good start to ownership
Hope the LCM sorts the warning/dash signals out for you, and no the SatNav isn't connected to it. Is the nav drive in the boot running?
In case you missed the changes to the MoT - missing warning lights for a certain number of systems (incl main beam, engine management and airbags) becomes an automatic failure from 1st Jan 2012. If yours is imminent that might add some unwanted pressure..
Check fuses 7 and 41 in the front fusebox (above the glovebox) to see if they're intact. Does anything at all show on the front display (apart from a faint glimmer), or is it just the Nav option that's out? It does sound like rather more than just one system, so it could be the head itself and/or the radio too. Any kind of warranty on the vehicle? Those systems are going to be expensive to replace if they've failed - just so you know that you may need to have a 'small discussion' with the Ford Dealer..
If they've got any sense they'll pass it to a BMW specialist to fix - my experience with Ford is that their systems tend to be rather 'simpler' than the average BMW. Some would say that a digital watch has more brain than a Ford - but that's just unkind.
