				Well East of England anyway.

Found you guys from the Xoutpost connection. Sorry to see the old site die, but this one is and will be better. I was a member so thought I'd come back to join you again.
Current stable is a 2005 E53 3.0d Sport Auto (mine) and a 2005 E46 330D M Sport Convertible (hers).
I love the X5, but have learned that BMW really means 'Being Mended Weekly' as mine has been the most expensive and most unreliable car I have ever owned. Trouble is that it drives so well, there's just nothing that really offers the same fun.

Deep sigh...........

Welcome back - sorry to hear about the problems you've had. Any info on this forum ever help you out?
You have the gearbox issue right, or had..? If so, glad WD coughed up!

				Thanks for the welcome folks.
We're in the far North East of Beds on the border with Cambs.
SWMBO loves her 330cd vert as it has some get up and go when you give it a bootfull. I have to admit being a bit fond if it myself, on the very rare occasion I'm allowed to get behind the wheel! The straight 6 doesn't sound like a diesel at all at full bellow and it's almost as quick as her old Seat Leon Cupra R. The 330cd vert handles better than the Cupra too.
I'm just starting the search for another BMW and can't make my mind up whether it will be an X6 or a newer E70. I'd like a new one but that may be pushing it. Really hard to find the right spec though in the used market. Some toys are essential, and others nice, but there are a few that I do want that can be fitted later, but would be better factory fitted (like window blinds and tow bars). Just have to keep looking
