No need to adjust recent e70's lights for driving on right?
No need to adjust recent e70's lights for driving on right?
I dropped my X5 off this morning for its warranty work updating the car's satnav. Whilst there I asked if they could set the lights for RHD. I was told that unique to the newer e70s, the light is flat and not biased to the left so doesn't need adjusting for use in Europe. Does anyone know if this is true? I presume the dealership knows what they're talking about but wanted to check. Very grateful for any responses!

I believe they are correct. More and more 'projector' type lamps produce a non-biased beam which needs no adjustment. Some manufacturers still do and there is usually a simple lever to change it over. I've not seen evidence of said level on my 2011 E71 either.

Many thanks - really appreciate your feedback. Just didn't want to risk being confronted with irate Europeans!

I too believe they are correct because I recalling hearing something similar from one of my contacts. Also I recall being unsuccessful in finding a how to reference in the owner manuals.

I had this confirmed by my dealer earlier in the year too!

Many thanks - appreciate it. Just hoping the software upgrade works - i'm told it's a big job (entire software has to be done not just satnav) so car has been kept overnight.

If you drive up to a wall and turn your lights on you will see they have a flat patten compared to to older cars
