car phone help

Post by mattyp » Sun Dec 04, 2011 8:19 am

I have just bought a 2002 4.4 sport. It has the comms pack fitted. under the centre arm rest is a motorolla v50 phone. I have put a tesco sim card in the phone as there wasnt one in it. When you turn the phone on it comes up tesco on the screen. As soon as i plug the phone into the x5 it swiches off. I have tried pressing the phone buttons on the steering wheel and they dont work. Also tried setecting the phone option on the screen in the car. Can someone help me please

There is a press switch under the armrest, that is what you use to pair the phone, i did mine and my phone is a Blackberry, dont know if its worth trying to pair your own phone first,

Probably a connection issue.

Check integrity of the cable connector that plugs into the phone &/or if you have one maybe try using another V50 to see if you can isolate the problem cause.
