Wondering if an update is coming to integrate Siri into the BMW system?! Anyone got any thoughts?
Would be great to simply press/hold the telephone button on the steering wheel.
When placing my iPhone 4s into the media cradle I noticed for the first time when playing Spotify that the album picture and track details show up on the screen & I can now flick the tracks from the steering wheel. Progress

BMW are constantly updating their systems so it might happen. They could integrate it into the cars with the 6NR 'BMW Apps' option installed. The Dealer did tell me last week that some of the BMW software works with IOS 5 & 5.0x but other bits don't and te iPhone 4S is only partly compatible - though no explanation as to what wasn't!. Some changes will need a new Combox to be fitted. Apple tend to release their new code without pre-releasing it to companies so that they all have to play catch up and by the tie they do, the OS has changed again. Minor revisions seem OK, but the major releases take time to become 'integrated'.
My non-6NR/6NF fiited X6 only started showing track data from my iPhone 4 via the bluetooth system after IOS5 and a car software upgrade. No piccies except via the separate USB port, but then I had the key 'smartphone integration' option missed on the spec, and it's an expensive and unnapproved non-OEM retrofit to put it in. That also needs a new Combox too. So much for the Combox being the one-stop media device that would always be up to date via simply software & firmware patches. BMW it seems either didn't know what they were talking about, or were a little 'generous' with the descriptions of what the Combox would actually do. There have now been at least three major revisions requiring hardware upgrades which cannot be retrofitted to cars with an earlier version.
On the other hand, it might appear on the Voice Control system, or even BMW Assist
