Having taken my summer wheels off today it looks like I need to replace the tyres before refitting.

Taking a quick look it seems the Bridgestone Runflats are quite a bit cheaper than Dunlop. My wheels are 20" so I need 315x35 and 275x40. Anyone any experience that would say the Dunlops are worth the extra money.

Anything else I should be thinking about? Assume I could go non runflat but would need to be saving a bit to make that worthwhile.

Anyone with good part worns to sell I might be interested or a genuine set of BMW E70/71 21" wheels with decent tyres.

FYI .. X6 wheels don't fit the X5. Rear hub is different size (larger on X5).

Thanks for that, now that you have said it I do remember reading that before. To be honest I reckon new or good used tyres on my existing 20s will be the best option.

Davy I've switched to non rft's. But having tried both Bridgestone's and Dunlop's (fitted to my car from factory), I rate the Dunlop's better. I felt they were more compliant and were less noisy also. Also think there isn't a lot difference between the OEM Dunlop's and non rft's.

I need to change mine soon also and am also planning to come of the Run Flats. I am interested to know if there is any significant difference in the ride now sinec you have changed to the non run flats?

Is there much cost saving in going for the non runflats. If there wasn't I will probably stick with runflat for the safety advantages they give.
