Today i tried to download my scanners software on to my netbook on windows 7, also to my laptop on windows xp but it keeps coming up with a error box that keeps opening up again and again and you cant stop it, can anyone please give me any advise as i have been told it should be compatible with windows 7 or windows xp

where did you get the program from? im after it. thanks

The software came with the scanner, also available on the Net

oh whats it look like, is that the one you can turn bulb warning etc off?

Hi x man i used the same instructions as you but still have the problem of error message appearing over and over again with a beeping noise, my friend has the same proplem on his computer with windows xp, he thinks the problem is he hasent got service pack 3, so he is going to download it and try again, will let you know how we get on.

Hi has anyone managed to download scanner 1.4.0 software and drivers on to windows 7

Are you getting the error during install or after it's installed and trying to run it? I seem to recall I had a similar issue trying to run the program after installing it and it not working. I plugged it into obd port and ran software and it worked. That was on my car laptop which runs vista business.

5mths later and i am still not there but i wont give up , i have hit problems again this time with my scanner 1.4.0, over the weekend my friend managed to download the drivers and the software onto his laptop with windows xp as i only have windows 7 on mine , when we plugged it into the car the first page opened up and we did a scan on the car to find faults and then cleared them, but the problem is we could not find a way of getting into the page what will let me enable my heater on the OBC can anyone please help with advice, or if anyone near to Manchester wants to use my scanner they are welcome and hopefully they can help me out as well,

I haven't got the car with me at the mo but i will plug mine in and take a look for you when i get chance in case i can help at all

From memory you double click on ike and then open coding or reprogram or something assuming your looking for aux heating. Have you tried 12v to pin one... Not many work as aux heater for one reason or another that I'm still trying to solve

I've got scanner 1.4.0 working on my Windows 7 ultimate netbook. I can't remember how I did it but it definitely works

I think if you go to device manager with the scanner plugged in to the X5 you should be able to update the driver from the ones supplied on the cd.
