Adaptive lights
Adaptive lights
Car went on for faulty error messages on my cameras (though they work fine) and got a free replacement ECU module for my troubles. At same time I asked dealer to check my adaptive lights as the headlights turn left and left fog comes on, but when I turn right only the fog comes on the headlights stay in same position. They say it's no fault, this is to stop oncoming drivers from being dazzled but I could swear they used to turn both ways as this is the point of them isn;t it (ie. to light up the windy country roads when you are on full beam etc)? Am I being fed some bull?
Re: Adaptive lights
Probable reason for zero replies with 23 views is that they only adopt this stance when parking/driving at walking speed. Out on the open road and with full beam on they turn fine. Doh!
Re: Adaptive lights
I did try to see what my own ones were doing last night and there did seem to be more 'left shift' than right, but the fog light switching in and out just confused the issue. The book says they only work with more than 10 deg of steering angle and less than 22mph forward speed. Not wanting to drive into anything accidentally meant I could not get an exact right turn to match a left one - was using our fence to see the beam movements.
As you state, at faster speeds, no fogs and full waggly lamp left and right.

Never anthropomorphise computers. They hate that.

Great to see you've posted about this as was about to take mine to the dealer with exactly the same problem. As it seems to be happening to us all I assume it's supposed to be like that
