im trying to find out how to wire up an aftermarket amp and in every video, picture etc on the web all x5s dsp or not have an amp of some description under the multichanger in the boot buit mine does not??

Neither does mine ...

The radio module is the AMP in non-HiFi speaker upgrade or DSP models.

well jeegnesh where did you wire your amp to for your sub, i need to get a signal for the phone leads, thamks

American cars have an amp, UK cars have it built in to the radio module. If you have nav, you will get your amp signals from the BM24/54

No dsp here either but still has an amp

come on then... what have you got to have an amp with no dsp????

Prob the same as me with the upgraded 10 speaker setup but no DSP.
Amp is the OEM Alpine unit which is mounted as per US spec.

Not sure on the pre facelift mobilejo

I didn't realise that mine was different from standard untill Sanj pointed out that the rear speakers were extra
So does this mean that all standard set ups have the amp in the radio module then ??? this would explain why some have the amp and some dont.

I spliced into the rear speaker and used a high level (speaker wire) to low level (phono) converter. Much the same as most people have done unless your amp has a high level input off course.

ive tried that with one of them conectors thats phono connectors tp 5 wires left +, left-, right+,right - and ground and all i get is a drone from the sub? its a vibe 1 channel amp so realy simple, what i did worked on my old x5 but i had to do it behind the headunit, this one tho has the nav screen?? im confuddled
