FAT X3
Thought i'd share this with everyone just to make you feel better about the value of your E53. Courtesy of TopGear magazine.

Width : 1,855mm
2006 BMW X5 (hardly original )
Height: 1,715mm

So now it's time to camp outside the stealers and harass all potential X3 buyers

I will have a drive in the 35 when it comes out though, just to see how it compares.

Re: FAT X3
I thought it looked big in the pics! I guess the only way to get it looking right is to bulk it up, the old X3 looked a bit weedy. I would be interested to see the weight difference.

Re: FAT X3
I really like the look of the forthcoming model.
Impressive figures for the 3.0d too. 0-62 is quoted as 6.0 or 6.2secs depending what you red & official mpg is quoted at 47.1 mpg combined....impressive numbers indeed.
I'd go so far as to say that if I could justify buying one I would do so,(subject to it driving well)...............sadly I can't justify it.

Petrol or diesel?
There doesn't seem to be any mention of the petrol version now

Re: FAT X3
Launch is Xdrive2.0d SE
I seem to recall talk of a more powerful diesel engine later.
Though many will be more than happy with the 2.0d promising 0-62 in 8.5secs, 130 mph, (ample top end for most uk roads), & 50mpg from a car not much different in size to an E53 !

Now where was I - Oh yes..........................Dear Santa,

Re: FAT X3
I went to our local dealers launch for this a couple of days ago - well, it was an excuse to eat al load of vol au vents
A very nice looking vehicle, inside and out. When I'm due to get rid of the X5 in about 3 years time I will definitely get one of these.
The 2.0d SE starts at £29k although the demonstrator was specc'd up to £37k!
There will only be the 2.0d at launch with the 3.0d to follow in the first half of next year. The sales chap thought there wouldn't be any petrol variants.
8 speed auto, auto stop/start means it's only £125/year RFL too. The interior is just light years ahead of the terrible old X3.
