That sounds great. Enjoy your new ride. My goal is to get a new one upon returning to states but my eyes are on the X5 M.

Very nice spec........... :D
Isn't the wait just such a killjoy though :x

now of course you need to add a full set of Winter Wheels.............on second thoughts, that might need rather a lot of further 'negotiation' :poke:

Update from dealer today:

"car has gone confirmed which means we cannot make any changes. Production will start this week or early next. Order number is 27592**, production week 44, delivery week 50 ETA mid December. "

Cutting it fine 8-) , so glad I placed order yesterday.

Not taking the bait, I'll just arrive .9sec behind you but I've got those extra toys to play with & keep me occupied. :-P

I did ok last year on e53 20" so doubt 19" this winter will pose much probs, anyway doubt dealer would through them in, cut the deal down to the bone with them.
With current BMW media discount & dealer discount included, it worked out at 15.1% of list with a fair p/x on my own car. So can't complain as I doubt ANO dealer would have been able to beat it by much (going internet/broadspeed etc). Also it's my local dealer 2miles from my home, I know sales guy I bought from and buying an Xdrive car coming into winter is hard to negociate discounts, so considering all this I was happy with deal.

Thanks for all the encouragement / advice guys (& ladies) on this thread & others I've posted over last couple weeks. Did have a wobble on colour but I'm quite happy with my choice. Now, just the wait............

Having properly looked at your order I think you have specced it very sensibly..clearly some thought went into the process.

I can never understand why folk order these new with 5 seats only unless future sale/px price a non issue.

Congratulations :)

The 7 seat option is rather expensive isn't it!?

Single blower does me fine, & I'll be 1.5sec behind 535dboy
TBH the new X5 will prob be badged 50D & tri-turbo then where will we be...

Not half as expensive if you had to sell car if your family size increases. Got 1 already, wife wants another, I buy car and next year she hits me with its twins / triplets. For £1k+ its a no brainer for me... build in the flexibility ;)

Thanks AW8, did give a fair bit of consideration, some where an absolute must 4me, folding mirrors, media, sunroof, comfort seats etc.
Once I had decided to go for 30D (£2400 less) I was able to add HUD, professional stereo (+£500 from business), comfort access, rear blinds. So the increased spec was worth it to me as I will use comfort access & prof radio, every time I'm in car, HUD will get used when sat nav on.

I know people rate/value things differently and most of us have to place a limit on spend, and if money was no object then a 40D would have been bought (still minus the 20" rims for ride quality), but a line was drawn in the sand and I tried to load as much spec that would add useability and potential resale value (though I will be keeping 4 a long time :D )

e.g stuff like leather dash must look really cool, but its not something u can use

When we decided to buy it was based on being able have a spec loaded car, with a healthy discount. If I hadn't been able to achieve my target price I prob wouldn't have bought it, as I wouldn't delete must have options just to be able to get back into X5.

We did look at used from 2010 LCI, but it was nigh impossible to find one with spec you like , in a colour we liked at a reasonable price. Some dealers are just crazy with some of thier prices :x . It was easier to talk discounts buying new, than used? :? Anyway getting excited now :)
