Hi guys, long standing member on some other BMW forums but 1st post here.
Have owned lots of BMW`s over the years including mini`s,E36,E46,E90,E87,a very supercharged M3 vert,Z4M but have just traded the wifes 2.0d X3 for a late E53 X5 3.0d Sport, has the premium and sport plus packs with Comms + TV so lots of toys for her to break.
Our X3 has been a great car for the last 18mths and on 17" Winters it was superb in the snow - hope the X5 is as capable.

				Welcome fella!
Those 2.0d X3's are pretty good cars! How do you feel moving from that to the X5? Interior/drive wise?

Collect it next week Sanj, I`ll only be using it for towing really (this was my main reason for convincing the wife she deserved a new car

) but it felt quite simillar on the test drive, steering is heavier on the 20`s and your a little higher up but the car feels much better put together.

Think the first things will be Auxhillary heating, TV on the move and voice activation. Pretty sure all these can be done with Navcoder.
I`d like to say it wont need a remap but that thought will probably last a few weeks at most. Almost bought a 35d X3 which would`ve suprised a few hot hatches with a map on it.

Hello and welcome aboard

TV and VR can be done with a resler and navcoder but i don't think Auxhillary heating can.

There is a massive post about aux heating... I'm finding details out about an " upgrade kit" to upgrade the aux heater to park heater also.

Not you `an all.

Yes mate, will be there at some point but hopefully on a private trackday not a public day. Much more fun to be had (and safer) on the Black Forest roads a couple of hours South instead of standing in the `Ring carpark because some chav`s hit someting/someone. We should start organising something after Xmas. Plowy was talking about a banger run at some point too.

Auxhillary heating can definately be enabled, had lunch with someone who`s done it today. Obviously you need a remote kit to set it remotely but it can be timed from the Nav screen without fitting the remote unit.
I`m told I may struggle with VR as the car has assist `tho ?
