MOT Failure :(....Now Passed :)

Well i was sort of expecting this time with a few rattles and knocks here and there.
I thought that some bushings would be suspect to failure as we have developed a 'wheel wobble' when braking down from higher speeds and also the rear clunk when pulling away, which i thought was the rear trailing arm bush....and still may be :roll:
Stuff i should have replaced earlier i suppose.... time, money and all that :roll:

Here's what the MOT flagged up...
Image

This does seem spot on aswell as the fronts would create the 'wheel wobble' under braking and the rear one would explain the slightly more tyre wear to the rear O/S tyre that i noticed earlier tonight under inspection :evil:

My question to you guys/gals is have any of you used after market parts at cheaper cost...any recomendations and if so how have they been. I have used non oem parts before and been quite happy with the results of some but i am also aware of you generaly get what you have paid for ;)

That and ive just checked with real oem and the original parts from bm are £192 each for the front wishbone/control arms :o :o :o :headbang:

I usually use lemforder parts from eurocarparts. As far as I'm aware there oem without the BMW stamp.

Don't understand what you are going on about.

We have spoken and all clear. Check with Mitch direct if you want.

Ouch = expense
Bad luck = it has happened at all

Think the shame is on you, fella, for jumping to the wrong conclusion!

Yeap, always two sides to a story :thumbsup:

Oh and primarily - my apologies to BOTH of you if I have jumped to conclusions.

But I will wait for the other side...

And peace 8-)

Done the Polo MOT today - £39 at the VW dealer, good for another year. Not bad for a 2001 car.
