Tis Gone............

Just said farewell to my 2005 E53 X5. No doubt it will appear on the BMW Used Car list pretty soon. Had it since new and it was a very good car overall. Yes, like a lot of X5's things went wrong, but overall it's a good car and should be a good buy for someone.
She's at Elms in Bedford if anyone is interested. 51k on the clock, Sterling Grey, built Week 1 2005.
And the replacement? That'll be a 2012 BMW R60 Mini Cooper Countryman 2.0 litre SDX All4 in Oxford Green, with almost every toy in the book added. It's big for a Mini - built on the 1er chassis. Should get it in November/December. It will be 'ours', but I suspect it will be mine when it needs fuel, and 'hers' at all other times.

It was 2008 and they checked it was there too!! I'd only given the sales person the keys for 5 mins and the finance bods upstairs were demanding all the paperwork from her 'this instant'.

I suspect forecourt price will make this cherished E53 over budget for some who maybe could have afforded it if sold privately for fair money.
Sad day no doubt but I hope you & yours like the Countryman

Sad day indeed, and I would have much preferred to try to offer her on this Board, but the offer from the Dealer (£12k) was too good to miss and it also required we traded the X to them this week or the offer would be reduced by £1500 this month and a total of £2500 by the delivery date. I did feel guilty about it though, but if you know what I got for her, maybe anyone after her could.......haggle from a position of strength
?

It wouldn't have been me buying it as sadly have other priorities at moment. Will be intersting to see what they ask for it before negotiation......I reckon £16,500 at a guess assuming it hasn't found a buyer already.
I could be miles out.
Don't want to rub salt into wounds so ownership thoughts for now have to be for the present (X6) & future (Countryman).

Good point well presented..........Just to clarify haste was issue rather than flawed basic arithmetic

Must have changed the engine too. It was a 218bhp unit last time I checked! I don't think the gearbox would stand 286hp of diesel strapped to it, but maybe that's why it broke
......and it didn't have a CD holder in it either - that's still here
It did have a Dension Ice>Link Plus installed though.
I think they're pushing their luck with that price, knock it down £1500 maybe, but then what do I know.
