Pathetic dealer trade in values !

Post by tubs » Fri Sep 09, 2011 8:32 pm

Went to my local Audi dealership today and wasn't surprised at the feedback but was at the £8k trade in value of my 2005 X5, went past and thought about an Audi A6 le mans avant, so sat down and asked before I can look at what model etc tell me the bad news first, as soon as £8k was discussed I said bye bye! :headbang: :headbang: :headbang: :driving:

Surely this for £8k what a joke has all the gear except rear electric seats and load floor and even has tele start webasto !!

I know big petrol engines are taking a bit hit at the moment with the awful economy.......no point trying to sell my Audi S8 - can't even get £5K for a spotless, top-of-range car, so it may as well just stay on my driveway - and that was a car that cost £55K :( Apparently, X5s (2003-ish - 2007) are depreciating around £600 a month at present :( :(

SWMBO wants to replace our 2005 X5 with Mini Cooper 2.0SD 'Countryman' so we're going to have a look tomorrow. I would expect a Dealer to offer around £12k for a 50k miler with almost all the options on it and a remanufactured transmission. If they don't play nice then no deal.

The trouble is that it's a buyers market, which helps you a bit. Trying to sell a BMW to Audi is a it like throwing in a stink bomb and legging it though. Have to admire your courage for that one :D

Mind you, £32k for a Mini is serious money, even if it does have all the toys! It's still a Mini. The X5 started at not much more than that in 2005!

X5 Sport - minis not my thing :-(. Yukkie but each to their own. They're very girlie ! Lol

Tubs

I went to Audi 2-3 months ago and was offered just over 9k for mine on a 2004 plate with 80k with toys and telestart remote. BMW said 9-9.5k at the same time. I'd rather keep it

Lol whatever did you think I was insinuating!!! ;-)

Must admit I chuckle when I see a man driving a mini I just can't help it as it looks wrong to me regardless of the power it may have.
