Hi Everyone,

I would like to say its great to have somewhere to find out all the how to's and have somewhere to ask the questions as a new to X5's rather then the dealers.

I have logged in from my laptop, much better, could not figure out how to start a new post from Tapatalk although i now know how to add images, Sorry for adding to someone else's post previously.

Any way i will be embarking on an install of the screens and the PS2 at some point (for my two girls) so would appreciate any help in terms of what to connect where, Sanj do you have any diagrams?

I will take pictures to share.

I have also decided to perform the wire wool on the runners as mine is looking a bit rough and i never know the rubber bits popped off.

Here are some pics of my 2002 3.0d sport.

Thanks all.

HI Garry,

I never did a How To on the screen install or the PS2 install (as Jig is SUPPOSED to be doing that one). I did make that list in the TV thread.

Bullethead has a few pics in the Ooops thread of how to get the back board off the seats. I also added an ignition positive loaction in the same thread. What else do you need?

Hi Sanj,

I have all the bits you listed, thanks that was very helpful (some here others in transit) and know where the power is coming from. I was looking for advice on setting up the sound (i have dsp) and the dash tv via av. Just a bit nervous messing with the wires and running cables.

:)

Cheers.

Hi Garry,

If you're nervous about splicing into existing wires for sound and audio you'd be better off going for this:

http://www.toysinyourcar.com/acatalog/bmw_av.html

Unplug the existing loom, put one end into this and the other of this cable back into the loom (on the TV Module, under the battery) . Now you have RCA cables ready for audio and video. Can't be any simpler - real easy option.

Thanks Sanj,

Is there any way to have it play using full dsp stereo when in av mode on front screen.

Is there a book or manual you recommend.

Cheers,

Garry

That method will let you tap into the AV using left and right audio. That is the best you will get - usually that AV IN/OUT button at the back is what most external installs try to go through and that only handles mono audio...

No books or manuals...
