Not to everyones taste but ive a set of -40mm springs to fit to car then I can reset rear air to match, anyone done this? Also ive a set of 22s rs 5 spoke gloss black off my old x5 however my new one has the wide arch extensions on and the rears dont look right, I either need 20-30mm spacers or some new deep dish 22s that fill the rear arches bt both seem in limited suply, also the spacers are pretty expensive considering I might stil want to sell the wheels in favour of a deep dish variety or would I need to space any wheels.

Can't help on the lowering but I know it has been done. Check Xoutpost - they have alot of lowered X5's in the states.
Spacers will not be a bad investment as I imagine more aftermarket wheels will be of a fitment suitable for non flared arches than for flared arches, so spacers would be required for those too. If you find you don't need them, there is always ebay and if they are expensive brand new, you will easily get a fair price for a used set on ebay later...

Very interesting, but you've lost me on this one......why would anyone want to lower an X5? I bought an SUV because of the high ground clearance, if I wanted a lowered vehicle then a nicely modded 5 series (or even an M5) sounds (and looks) more the part......... anyway, good luck, it will be nice to saee pics

well i thought it might look good lowered and the springs were cheap enuf, im going to fit them monday, i will post pics up when ive worked out how to do it (the pics that is, im more practical than computerized so fitting springs the easy bit imo). before and after, will probly just look like one with all round air sus does on the lowest setting all the time. i think i will order spacers, im unsure on my wheels though with the 20s on it looks nice and with the gloss black 22s on it looks like a monster!! but realy im thinking some deep dish 22s chrome dish and silver centres, so might sell myn im just unsure!

well condorx5 not so much lower it as close the gap between the wheels and tyres, i saw a couple of 4.8is at gaydon fest sat really low compared to mine and thought they looked great and come on ground clearance issues, i dont even take myn near a curb never mind a field lol!! p.s. if you have the 4.8is any chance i couuld have the size of the exhaust tips e.g i think there about 6"x3" but thats a guess, myn is the same car but diesel for economy with the miles i do, ive the 4.8 kit on and want the exaust tips now, thanks

Hiya.
I've been contemplating lowering my 4.8is further than the standard for quite sometime but still debating. As far as I was aware you only need to lower the fronts and the rears will self level accordingly.
This was mine on the standard 20's with 20mm spacers all round at Santa Pod last year:
20mm was perfect all round and helped the loof=k of the standard rims.
As for 22's.....deffo.
And this is how she looks now after a lot of time and effort:
I'm running ACS Type II 's with 20mm spacers at the rear. I'd prefer to go larger at the rears to bring them out a bit further.
