Has anybody had problems with the 3.0d and poor starting . Over the last couple of day's it dose'nt start within the first touch you now have to hold the key in the fully turned position for 3 or 4 seconds where as before it would start at the first touch .
Any ideas .

Re: Poor starting .
I only had this once during the cold winter, and my Glow Plug Control unit was faulty. This was replaced and all was fine after that.
Obviously can not state that it is the same for you, but by reading the fault codes, it was showing an error for each glow plug.
Do you have a fault reader?

Covered by warranty, but about £450 as it involved the removal of the manifold.

Not sure what part of the world you're in, or how the Glowplug Unit affects hot starting, but in the current weather that system should not be active as glowplugs are not needed when the air temps are above 5degC. At this time of year there should be no glowplug activity at all.
Never anthropomorphise computers. They hate that.

Mine was taking anything up to 5 or 6 attempts to start and the local Indy replaced the relays on the pressure pumps which cost £185. Starts first turn now and much cheaper than either of the pressure pumps!
