The rear pads need changing, so ordered up new rear pads and sensor from eurocarparts.com with a 30% discount : ), and they have arrived.
I've never fitted new pads before but I'm guessing its pretty straight forward, but can anyone give me a basic guide to doing this? Are there any special tools I'm gonna need?
Cheers

change my rear pads?
Re: change my rear pads?
Straight forward job. You will need a 7mm hex bit socket or allen key to undo the bolts holding the pads in place.
Puch the piston back - taking care not to overflow the brake fluid reservoir under the bonnet. Remove old pads, fit new ones with sensor if required and refit bolts.
Job done![Smile :)](./images/smilies/original.gif)

Brilliant, thankyou.
Do I need to remove the lid for the brake fluid reservoir before I do this?

Re: change my rear pads?
Hi John,
I did mine myself a few weeks ago. First time I've ever done brakes and it was easy enough - I took some tips from the attached guide - it covers both front and back replacement so you find it helpful:
http://www.xoutpost.com/articles/x5/bra ... b-diy.html
I forgot to remove the fluid reservoir lid and found a small patch of fluid under the car when I'd finished
guess the pressure forced a bit of fluid out.
Also, I found it easier to undo the 2 hex bolts holding the carrier in place and then lift the carrier away with the caliper rather than trying to get to the allen bolts.
Hope this is helpful.

I did my fronts with PAGID discs and PAGID pads from ECP...bit of dust but WOW....through the window time. The discs were already painted so no rust
I imagine the rears although smaller are a bit more fiddly what with having to back off the shoes perhaps and not being able to swivel the wheel?

Fitted these today, all good, took ur advice phil and removed 2 hex bolts holding the carrier in place and then lift the carrier away with the caliper rather than trying to get to the allen bolts, made it a lot easier
