Hi All,
Today my stereo has stopped working. No sound at all.
The left knob that you press to turn on and off and adjust volume doesn't do anything.
The Sat Nav all works good and so does the TV - just no sound.
Phone connects but again, no sound.
Any ideas?!
Cheers

Re: Stereo/radio/cd stopped working - HELP!
Hi try removing the fuse, maybe it will reset, or is there a mute button ??
good luck, also think tuner amp by or under spare wheel, unplug and re connect

Re: Stereo/radio/cd stopped working - HELP!
Sounds exactly like problem I have. have tried battery disconnect reset, checking for obvious connection issues into the radio module & checking the relevant fuses.
I have just ordered a circuit tester & intend to use this to check if I have power going into the module.......once I have worked out which exact pins to check.
Car electrical diagnostics & repairs not my strongpoint......... if able to deduce I have power up until the module then I will try to borrow another like radio module & see if I still have same problem. If other module works then I will know its my module & will replace or cause it to be repaired, (there is a company advertising repairs on ebay who have been used by another member on here). New modules aren't cheap & I will thus have to ensure I get correct one. If getting a later one I will need an adapter cable as the PIN's vary depending on build date of car.
Somebody else commented that another owner with similar problem sorted it by finding a supposed non related fuse that had blown. Yes I am frustrated re the situation but not resorted to checking every fuse in the car..................yet
Been without car audio for a few weeks now & this is starting to annoy me

Re: Stereo/radio/cd stopped working - HELP!
Well thanks for that Explorer and AW8 - I located the 1 fuse in the glove box and the two in the rear cargo area - I pulled each fuse and checked them one at a time.
All the fuses were fine but when I put them back and started the car to go out the radio was back on!
Dunno if one fuse was badly seated or just the fact that removing them reset the stereo. All works perfect again. Weird.

Re: Stereo/radio/cd stopped working - HELP!
I know this isn't particularly helpful, but when this happened to me many many moons ago in an ancient Austin, I resorted to having a small transistor radio in the passenger footwell.......

Re: Stereo/radio/cd stopped working - HELP!
Rather than start another new thread I thought I would tag onto this one.
Driving along today and a call came through on my phone. The bluetooth picked it up but the radio never muted so I pressed the Phone button and nothing. I said to the caller I will phone back and they ended the call. I pulled in turned the ignition of and called them back but when I turned my ignition back on the radio was dead the left had knob was doing nothing.
The TV was still working but no sound.
Nav was still working with sound.
Blutooth was working with sound.
When I got back to work I pulled the fuses that are in the boot and put them back in and hey presto its all working again.
I am beginning to think that I have got a computer with wheels on it rather than a car with a computer in it !
Anyway its all working now but I thought I would share and someone may be able to explain
