After having my mirrors stolen, put in a Clifford 650 mk11 alarm, bit unfortunately today my airbag light is showing as constantly being on, have spoken to the Clifford dealer he has told me that he can reset it using a scanner and that it's not a problem. Just wondering how most people get it resolved if they have a constant airbag on sign.

Regards

Amer

I thought all X5s came with an OEM Thatcham 1 alarm system?

Hmm, shouldn't have caused the airbag light to be on just from fitting the alarm. Was it on when you collected the car?

Get it reset and see how you get on.

But the Clifford may have proximity sensors which will go off if someone's trying to steal his mirrors again.

To be honest I don't think it was, I just noticed it now. Had the mirrors installed this week from a bm breaker. But ifthe airbag was an issue should have come on then. Do they normally just need resetting?

BMW airbag lights have always been a problem. Loose connections, broken wires etc.... on the E46's and E39's they'd come on due to people moving the front passenger seats, or if they managed to kick the cables under the seat......... (front airbag has a sensor on the seat I think so it knows if someone's sitting there.)

Just get it reset for now, it'll probably come back on at some point.
