MAF Sensor cleaning

Hi,
I've taken out the MAF to clean the sensor, as i've read numerous articles that a clean helps the life and also improves on the running/performance of the engine. As there is a lot, and I mean a lot of dust here, in Pakistan, I thought i'd give it a clean. Got the proper MAF cleaning fluid. Took out the MAF but could not take the sensor switch out of the casing. Has anyone done this, I read on the old site that someone had done it, and actually saved the web page instead of the article (Idiot!!) Is there a trick to getting the switch out as I've tried giving it a good pull ( as far as I dare), but no joy!!
Also, I request all old members that if they have any write ups saved from the old site to submit them to the original writers/ moderators, as someone has done on Sanj's wing mirror repair. Thanks.
Regards,
shaz
