Hankook tyres...

Post by shaunos » Wed May 25, 2011 12:21 pm

..... anyone any experience with them?

My X5 currently runs 295/40/20's front and rear and I'm gonna need to either change the wheel package or the tyres in the near future.
They currently have contis on them which are pretty good but at 320 euros a corner they are a bit pricey.....

Just curious to know if anyone has any experience with Hankook Ventus ST RH06 on their X5? or any other good value tyres...

I have these in that exact size and got them accidentally,(rather than by choice as a friend of mine got hold of them cheap, I replaced diamaris with these, and appearence aside, I noticed no real difference, which is as good a compliment to them as I can give, I had to do an emergency stop on a wet road with them and they didn't let me down so I went out and bought them in 22 inch for my schnitzers, good mid range tyre that saves you money on the top brands, and keeps you away from the ditch finder brands, all good if you ask me

Oops, edit, mine are actually 275/40/20, but you get the idea!

I have the Toyo Proxie ST's on mine, replacing the Michelin Diamara's of OE (275/40/20 front, 315/35/20 rear). I have found then to be much quieter and less harsh a ride, also they grip well and look good into the deal.

Just my opinion but hth.

I too can vouch for TOYO proxies. Found them very quiet in comparison to the michelins. However I think that is almost entirely due to them not being run flats.

How do te Hankooks compare with the Toyos for price?

I have Toyos are very good but have little or no rim protection as do the Michelins. Otherwise a good option. £650 all in for 4 is about the going rate right now.
