Using the X3s hidden menu...
Cold morning start the battery @ idle is: 11.4
While driving battery reading is: 11.9
The battery is H8 AGM
X3 e83 m54b30 223k on the clock.

Should I be concerned with this battery if it goes with me on a long trips

That sounds too low. AGM charging voltage is 14.4V and that it what you should see at the jumper points under the bonnet as well as on the battery terminals themselves. Worth sticking a multimeter on the terminals to see what the alternator is doing. If the battery is more than 5-6 years old then it’s likely approaching (or at) end of life.

The table below is one I found many years ago for checking AGM Battery state of health:

AGM Battery State of Charge (SOC) Table

For greatest life the AGM battery should not be discharged to less than 50% SOC
SOC must be measured off-load, car asleep, at least 3 hours after last use or since last connected to a charger.

100% SOC 12.8 volts or greater - NEW Battery
90% SOC 12.7 volts VERY GOOD Battery
80% SOC 12.6 volts GOOD Battery
70% SOC 12.50 volts Low Battery - Recharge
60% SOC 12.30 volts VERY LOW Battery - Recharge
50% SOC 12.20 volts DISCHARGE LIMIT/or EOL Battery, consider replacement.
40% SOC 12.00 volts Consider replacement if no recovery after charging.
30% SOC 11.80 volts as above - at least one cell dying.
20% SOC 11.70 volts as above - at least one cell dying.
10% SOC 11.50 volts as above - at least one cell u/s
0% SOC 10.50 volts as above - dead/probably non-recoverable.

If the SOC does not hold at greater than 80% after charging and being left for several hours then the battery is most like approaching its end of life (EOL) and replacement should be planned for. If it drops back to 50% or less then the battery’s service life is very limited meaning regular, or daily, charging may be required. 40% and below is usually not worth trying to recover and the service life is complete. At least one cell will be failing or failed.

To measure after three hours, leave the bonnet open/lowered but not latched and lock the car. That way you won’t wake the car when you unlock to open the bonnet.

Put a meter across the battery jump points to measure voltage when its idling ,if its not around 14v the alternator isn't doing its job / or battery is faulty . Do it before starting and you should definitely see a rise .

However, the battery powers up everytime every first start

The on board electronics will probably work down to around 10V (for a short period) as the volt drop when the starter engages would cause issues otherwise. A good battery should not drop that far anyway. It sounds as if it still has some life in it though.

I’m never sure how accurate the in board hidden menus are for this, hence putting a meter on the jumper points will prove one way or the other.

Yeah your absolutely right.
With my previous battery while on a cross town journey...the battery began to fade...the radio went, then the interior fan went headlights just before I stopped only the fog lights were on. I experienced this while driving...I was somewhat impressed with BMWs safety processes in such an older car.

Would have expected higher voltage with the engine running so check the alternator out before spending.
You-tube will show you the best way to do it on the alternator itself.

It would be interesting to see what the voltage is for the battery when the car is running...An indication of the health of the alternator.
