Could be mirror heating? Mine being a later version has different symbols with the side view cameras being a ‘camera’ symbol. There’s no matching symbol in the handbook, so either of the above has an equal chance of being right.

Manual mirror heating? I thought that action was always automatic? It is on mine. The car in question has no visible side camera in the front bumper cover, unless there's one secreted in the door mirror.

I'll not stress over it :)

Have a look under the mirror, that’s where mine are. There is a reference in the TIS to downward looking cameras in the mirrors. There seem to be two versions, one giving an all round top-down view (this is the version I have), and one just looking down at the sides of the car. Annoyingly it doesn’t show the actual switches to check symbology.

The only other on-line info refers to blind spot detection, however on the two BMWs that I’ve had with it, it just shows an orange warning light in the outer bottom corner of the mirrors and there’s no switch. The system is active all the time and uses the radars in the bumpers.

Cameras in the mirrors seem most likely, though downward facing has limited practical use I'd have thought? Having negotiated via email, the dealer hasn't responded to my last email yesterday, nor has his office telephone been answered today. Odd.

I made an enquiry a while ago, but I was met with rejection. They were not wanting to take any diesels in trade. Then, out of the blue, i was asked if i still had any interest 🤔

There's always a resolution to queries. I was intrigued by this dealer having no less than three white E70s, albeit different ages/specifications.

It transpires they are Japanese imports. What i know from imported Japanese spec Subarus is, the sat-nav is unlikely to work and the radio may not be capable of full functionality. Given my intention to export it to Greece, potentially adding more complications into the mix, i think this idea is best consigned to 'not really viable'.

FWIW this is the dealer, www.klawmotors.com and for the curious this is the vin WBAFE42090LK98379 its the £13500 car. It has some nice features but no mention of cameras?

And i don't know any details other than the car with the named dealer is real and genuine. However the emails i have from Simon Warren sales manager at Klaw Motors are fraudulent. Odd, because no money has been requested. What the angle is i dont know.

Every day is (still) a school day.

A colleague bought a Japanese import and had a ‘rodent issue’ with wiring. It cost serious money to fix and 6 months later the alternator failed. That needed an import to get a replacement as the EU version wasn’t compatible. Again, serious money.

A quick check of the VIN against mdecoder shows the engine as an N52K and the car as a 30i. Not a 35i. No cameras in the spec, but a good spec. Made 28 Apr 2009.

Interestingly though it was built with a special EU pack S230 whatever that is.

TV, Radio and cellular (all fitted) will be different as you say, but could be coded (at cost no doubt) for EU region.

The car ĺooks nice to me. But a black interior isn't deal for a hot climate even with the nice white body.

Having spoken directly with the genuine dealership at length, he doesn't know how messages to him are being intercepted.

It also seems "Simon Warren" is a known scammer. Its academic now, the dealer doesnt accept diesels as trade-ins as he originally stated,
