Dropped the X5M off for a tyre replacement and MOT, and had two calls since. They don't know how to start an X5M. They asked me how to do it, should I be concerned ....

Talked them through it that the gearbox is different from an automatic and that you needed the key on you and foot on brake. Did I really have to explain that to a main dealer??

I can see on the app that they have moved the car so I assume they got someone else to get it started.

You are not making it any better

I took the service advisor outside for her to take a picture of every wheel being undamaged, as I want it back that way please ...

They’re obviously not used to gas guzzlers. If it was Kerosene powered then no problem……it must be about as fast :D

That doesn’t say much about the quality of your dealership though. Look it up in a book maybe, even phone a friend. Phone a customer is, well, just wrong.

Oh, it got worse. They are now paying for damage to a wheel as well

Video at there dealership of all wheels is never a waste of time as they could not argue it, even though of course it is the first defence that it was already there.

That’s really not good.

I had the M50 serviced last week and they told me they’d spent 45 minutes diagnosing the charging cable with the car plugged in and found nothing wrong with it. The problem (for them) is the car tells me when it’s plugged in and unplugged again. Total time? That’ll be 2 minutes. After a rant, and showing them my phone with the notifications, I got a new cable.

They also wanted £109 for new wiper blades. After raised eyebrows, they took the £40 labour charge off!

Do they all just lie? The service of the ID last week included the testing of the charge cable, all good.

Except there was no charge cable in the car as that was at home ...

After I decided to do any work that is required on my x6m by myself, it was interesting to note the appalling work that had been carried out by a main dealer after they had removed the engine.
This was after they had dropped an injector tip into a cylinder while changing said injector.
Told me the dropping rearcwas caused by a ride height sensor (actually a leaking air bag), and that they couldn't find out why the charge air cooler pumps were running. This turned out to be a defective pump controller and stuck main engine relay.
I would say they were incompetent, but that would be assuming they had any competence in the first place.
