Is the battery good.
An old and failing battery might still start the car but it can also throw all sorts of false fault codes.
It was just a thought.

Take out the battery cover and trim at the rear of the boot in the thick loom that runs across the rear and up to the Fuse/control panel in the right hand cubby. Check the loom your looking for a cable join/splice with 4/5 Green wires and a clear plastic tube cover it will look black inside thats copper corrosion cut the plastic off and remake the joint with solder and seal with shrink wrap. Close by there will be another joint with 4/5 Green with a brown/red trace remake this one as well you shous then be able to clear your K-can Faults and several others
In the loom there are 3 other splices made with the clear tube I did all mine to be sure

Sorry no pictures I was told about the connections apparently BMW or their loom supplier deciced these connections didnt need soldering the joint is twisted and compressed then covered with the clear sleeve. In TIS I found a referrence to Splices X15005 and X15006 and a picture showing their location wrapped in the main loom below the Fuse board in the right rear cubby. I had to look hard as mine were in the loom bundle about a third of the way towards the battery
When I separated the loom bundle to expose them 2 Green wires literally fel out Good hunting

Here are a couple of pictures I found online that should help with what your looking for
I had to dig into the loom bundle that runs along the rear of the boot and up to the Fuse Board the Green wires are K-can low the Green/orange K-can high once remade with solder I could clear all K-can faults, the other splices I just remade for my own peace of mind

You’ll need to add images via the <Add files> button below the text entry area and then select the ones you want and once uploaded select <Place inline> to add them into your message.
