Original BMW battery. Any ideas?

How old is the battery?.....when you say increased please elaborate..

Its a warning of either a failing battery or a battery that needs charged up , it can appear if you using stuff without the engine running too or if the car isn't used much .Id charge it up first but if you are using it regular and the battery is over 5 years its probably a warning it will need changed in the near future.
Is the clock resetting on startup ? as that is an indication of a discharged or weak battery

On my X6 this alarm came up regularly if the car hadn't been used fir a couple of days. Turned out that one charge air cooler pump was continually running (pump fault) and the main engine relay was staying on .
Only way to find those problems was with live diagnostics.

Original battery well any from BMW will have a date code on the negative post.
I take a pic and zoom in but it will look like this below and this one is for week 25 of 2015.

I see this warning on both the X6 and i4. On both it just means the 12V battery is a bit low. On the X6 the battery being 8 years old and the car little used, that it needs a top up. I’ll replace it in the next few months. The i4 has a constantly running on line system so gets a bit low after a couple of weeks of not being used.

If it keeps coming up then it may well be time to swap out the vattery for a new one. Note that on the E70 (and newer) you can’t just swap the battery. The replacement has to be ‘coded’ to the car in order to reset the Intelligent Battery System. That can be done by various places so you don’t necessarily need to go to a main dealer.

Just had to replace batteries in both of our ICE BMWs. The 3-series lasted 10years, and oddly was a ‘wet’ battery although it should have been an AGM. Last changed by a now-defunct Indy. Never thought to check the chemistry and with it being in a tight-to-see place in the rear, was impossible to see. X6 battery only lasted 6 years but then it isn’t connected to a conditioner when out of use.

Tayna Batteries were as usual excellent. Ordered the pair about 10pm on a Saturday, despatched Sunday, arrived first thing Monday morning. Charged both up so I know they were full before fitting (neither was flat but a top-up to check is simple enough). Forgot just how heavy car batteries are for ‘larger’ diesels!!

Used a Bosch S5 series AGM for the 3er and another Yuasa AGM for the X6. Coded and reset the X6 with Carly and both cars sorted for a few more years.

The service from Tayna is second to none i think same with there prices.
I ordered my last battery on a Sunday morning early as well and couldn't believe it when the email came saying dispatched and as above turned up Monday morning.
My way of thinking is they are busy if working 7 days so battery stock constantly changing so you are getting a fresh battery not one that has been sitting around a while.

Good point Alan batteries can be sitting in places for years if a slow seller

I have been to Tayna as it is only about 45 miles from me.
You have to watch yourself with forklifts and deliveries all over.
The first time i went there was when i had what i thought was a faulty battery not bought from them.
They tested it in the car with digital and old fashion drop tester first.
They then lent me a battery so they could test it on some test bench over the weekend.
Outcome was a faulty battery with a full report witch the seller could not argue with so a full refund and i then bought my first of many from Tayna.
Nice bunch of guy's there as well.

Nice to know they still use tried and tested ‘old school’ testing. Haven’t seen or used a drop-tester of that type in decades. It certainly finds bad batteries!
