Adaptive headlamp fault

I thought I posted this, not sure if it did.

2009 X5 E70 adaptive headlight fault.
Scanner says bad communication between footwell module and left and right headlights.
I don't want to throw parts at this. Why can't the fault be located exactly.
All components inspected for water, corrosion.
All look good.
Thoughts?

Are the headlights moving when you turn the wheel, easy to see at night when parked

I dont know tbe answer but if there is no comunication that module has likely failed otherwise it would be able to tell you whats wrong.if it was s light issue it would be unlikely to be in both lights .
If its a cheap scanner though it may simply not be good enough to scan that module .

The module uses the LIN bus and CAN bus to communicate with various other modules, including lighting. If the wiring is all intact then it points towards a module failure.
