Both outer rubber boots torn on front driveshafts, can’t complain they look original so 175k isn’t a bad life. But, there’s always a but the passenger side uj was notchey, admittedly most of the grease was gone so had to send for a new drive shaft which hasn’t arrived yet.
While waiting I’ve changed the oil and filter/coolant/power steering fluid/brake fluid/diff oils and decided to check the g/b oil in my newly refurbed g/b. Surprise surprise no oil dribbled out, I had a litre of ZF oil and put that in and still no dribble. So been down to the repair shop and had a robust conversation with them. They suggested I bring it in for them to look at and I told them to kiss my ass as the trust has gone and I wanted a couple of litres of oil and I’ll do it myself. Looks like I won’t get that done soon as the weather is bad for the next few days but when I find out exactly how much it needs I intend to ask for a warranty extension. Livid or what.

Id imagine it doesn't need much more oil if you put a litre in and there are no leaks and it has to be done when warmed up at bit 40c I think ? not cold to get the right level

I’ve got the gearbox oil and the driveshaft has arrived but so has the rain, unfortunately I took it to bits on the driveway on a nice sunny day. I’m confident it will be blazing sunshine by Saturday.

Just to finish this off I put 3/4 of a ltr in gearbox, fitted driveshaft and all is good except that now the suspension goes down after 2 days sitting. Goes down completely on drivers side first then passengers side. Didn’t know the sides were interlinked and thinking it must be an airbag. Any thoughts.
