Hi, have a noise coming from the rear suspension on the near side . I jack the car up took the wheel off, put jack under rear arm and slowly lifted the suspension.
If you put your had on any part of the suspension while lifting you can feel the noise resinate through the whole suspension even the suspension arm damper . So many ball joints and fixing points can't think where to start. Any ideas fellas its doing my head in.🤬🤬🤬

The model age and mileage might help you get some suggestions? From what you describe, is something binding maybe a damper or bush has failed. Plenty of those as i recall on the rear subframe of most (all?) X SAVs

Give each joint a good squirt of silicone spray one joint at a time.
When the noise alters you have hit the one.
Well it was just a thought it is early lol.

If one bush or ball joint is going the rest won't be far behind :D with the E53 I a brought a Kit to replace upper control arms Rose Joint and drop links from memory it was about £180
The E70 is just about identical and I will be doing the E70 later this year
Things I learnt from the E53 are some of the fasteners were really rusted (18 years of Road Crud) and I ended up cutting them off saves a lot of struggling and curses.
The eccentric washers for adjustment mark their positions with a scriber so they go back in precisely the same position.
Buy new eccentric adjustment bolts and nuts, mine were so rusted I cut them off
The inner bushes on the lower suspension arms I managed to press out but new bushes need compressing before they can be pressed home, I brought PTFE replacements much easier to fit
The Nearside took a full Saturday while I learned the hard way Drivers side was an easy Sunday morning.
The difference was chalk and cheese in ride and road noise, well worth doing
