Ceaking dash cover.

My wifes E84 X1 has a creaking dashboard. It seems to be on the passenger side top part. The car is rhd btw. Is it a simple matter to remove the dash cover and see what's amiss? It's worse in hot weather, and on bumpy road surfaces. Not the end of the world, the car is 13 years old, but if it's something I can easily fix it might make my home life easier!
