20" 4.6is wheels and tyres

I might have a set of the above for sale from my x5, ( currently for sale ), have been offered a deal from someone wishing to buy without the wheels, ( he has a set of 22's to go on ), but I'm trying to judge how much a set of these would fetch on the open market, the wheels are in pretty good nick, but if you want perfection then they could do with a refurb, the tyres are michelin front and toyos rear, all with approx 6-7mm of tread on.
I haven't put this in the for sale section as I don't know yet if the deal is possible, that depends on what you guys think price wise.
thanx. W.

There were some on here about a month ago for £600 (now sold) they were in good nick only a small amount of paint had flaked off one of the rims, no kerb marks.

Pictures have now been deleted.

I remember seeing that ad. but the tyres on these wheels are very near new, and we all know how much they cost, so you can have a set of almost new tyres and a set of wheels for way under what it would cost for the tyres alone.
Thanx.

I have the same situation as you, was going to sell my 20 inch 4.8is wheels on here until a few people
Deemed them overpriced as a set of similar (the same as yours) were sold cheap recently, I believe they had 3mm
On the tyres, whereas mine have 5-6mm. You'd be better trying them elsewhere as a lot of people on here seem to want a
Lot for nothing. :)

A somewhat unfair accusation that! Very few people have the kind of money that you wanted for them lying about. Just because the few who were interested enough to ask, but didn't take it further doesn't mean that a 'lot' of members should be apparently tarnished as wanting things for nothing.

Fitting 20" wheels also requires extended wheel arch flares which also have to factored in by any prospective owner with a non-OE flared equipped E53. I looked seriously at the thread for my E53 but could not have bought the wheels/tyres and flares, especially when I had recently got a brand new, unused set of wheels/tyres for my X6 for £500 from a Dealer.

Good luck selling them and I don't doubt you will be successful, you were just unlucky on here. :)

I wasnt saying that all forum members want something for nothing! I said that due to the almost banger status that some early x5s are descending into that the owners of some of them in general will not be prepared to pay for certain things deeming them expensive as their cars were cheap in the first place, bringing down the market for accessories in general, thus accepting their points about price ideals for different people, i was trying to tell the OP that even though he may have a good set of tyres on his own wheels, that people will treat them as worthless because they've seen some chinese 20s with kumho slicks on ebay for £150, I might seem cynical, but I thought I'd try and save the guy getting told to give them away like I was, and you don't actually need the arch extensions to run 20s, Ive run one with and one without, you just get a bit more mud splashed up on your rear 3/4 without them, if that bothers you then I guess their not for you, anyway, I'm off on eBay to look for all these bargains everyone except me seems to find! : )

FWIW, i let my set go far too cheaply, less than i paid for them before the refurb, but, times are hard for many and they occupied too much of my garage, so £600 bought them and they're gone.

Can I just add that I have actually sold them, they are staying with the car, and not being sold seperately after all.
