Am I the only one having problems? Heater, sometimes I only get hot air from one side, not consistent as next time it will be the other side. Tried putting the heat up/down on non working side with no joy. Next start all is fine. Coolant level is good, auxiliary water pump works, checked with diagnostic tool when not working and both heater valves are open. Haven’t topped up the coolant in probably 6 months so no leaks. Any thoughts.

Ah. Just read your previous thread and you state that the hedgehog has been replaced. The only other thing I can think of would be a heater matrix blockage. Our L320 did that so I back flushed it and it was ok after.

I’m not sure what roll the hedgehog plays in this as the fan is working fine it just blows hot out of one side and cold the other. It like there is a flap stuck and not allowing the hot air through but that happens inconsistently on both sides which you would think would show up on diagnostics. Last night passengers side is hot and after 10 minutes suddenly drivers side is hot. You can then adjust the temperature up or down without having any issues on either side. I’ll probably try that back flush as suggested but not till service is due in 1k

Although saying what I did I’ve just remembered our Cayenne that did that too. That turned out to be one of the flap motors which was an absolute pig to replace..

Can you reset the flaps in diagnostics.
Did it once on a 320d when no hot air from centre vent and it worked.

Not sure if you can reset the flap motors or not I’ll have to have a fiddle with the diagnostic tool. Good suggestion though
