Hi,
Just buying a 53 facelift and wanted to check whether anyone else has noticed a popping noise from the speakers when turning the ignition off??
The radio etc is not on just the screen active (its got sat nav)...
Any ideas?

Not so much a popping for me but what could only be described as what sounded almost like a crackle when using volume button on unit or steering wheel volume. Turned out to be radio module ( quite common problem). I'm not saying that's the issue for the one your talking about just my experience.

Most of the bits are in the boot, do they all work? Radio, tv, Bluetooth (if spec'd) - check they work off the front screen then ask to see for water damage at the very bottom of the boot, under the compressor. Popping usually associated with bad earth though...
Very much guess work I'm afraid.
And introduce yourself too, you'll get Breyer feedback from other forum members.

Good point! Got a little too excited with buying the thing, I forgot my manners!
I haven't purchased the car yet, I've always wanted one but never really been the right time etc.
So I've found a local 53 facellift, 79k on the clock, some service history and its being sold by a BMW specialist so I am thinking it might be a safe bet.
I'm not new to the BMW brand, got a nice rotten e30 on th drive, soon to be less rotten.
Ok, I'll have a chat with the garage. Just found out its not got heated seats though
